Stoicism- Wu Wei

Many people by now have come to know what stoicism is, or at-least what it means to be a stoic, or have a stoic mindset. Though, personally, I am far from a stoic myself, this is why I believe my view on it can be appreciated, especially in the modern day, as technology and trends fight for our attention as the very essence of life, that beckons us through that innate voice or feeling, feels so fleeting, and yet the only thing that seem to keep us engaged is the falsification that life itself is and should be better than our own, that is our experiences.

While most may find temporary solace in the mere immediate gratifications of the moment, Stoicism teaches us that what we do in our present should be a reflection of what we will do in our future, and what we have done in our past. If those things do not align, in a state of flow, how then can you say that you have lived a meaningful life?

If you want something, then aim at it. If you don't want anything, then enjoy the stillness that surrounds you. The stoics believe that inaction in itself, is action, meaning, that the action of doing nothing has consequences that affect your present and similarly your future. Wu Wei is just a term for the one who follows the flow of the universe, never resisting, nor complaining, but accepting that this is indeed, the way.
